Notre Dame Stadium is a football stadium located at 2010 Moose Krause Circle, Notre Dame, Indiana. The stadium serves home to the University of Notre Dame Irish. The venue opened to the general public on October 4, 1930, with a cost of $750,000. Officially, it has a seating capacity of around 77,622 people. It is owned and operated by the University Of Notre Dame. The architecture of the venue was designed by a big firm, Osborn Engineering. Three new buildings were added with the stadium after university’s announcement named as Duncan Student Center, O'Neill Hall (music department), and Corbett Family Hall. The venue is known for its outclass view to the north of Touchdown Jesus, a large mural entitled The Word of Life.
The stadium hosted its inaugural game on October 4, 1930, in which Notre Dame Irish defeated SMU with 20–14. The first night game was played at the stadium on October 22, 2011, between the Irish and USC. The 2019 NHL Winter Classic was also hosted at the stadium on New Year's Day played between the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks. On October 6, 1962, the stadium achieved its highest attendance record of 61,296 fans in a game between Irish and Purdue. Garth Brooks hosted the first concert at the venue on October 20, 2018. The stadium also hosted its only soccer match in July 2019.
