Greek Theatre is a music venue located at 2700 North Vermont Avenue, Los Angele, California. The theatre was opened on September 25, 1930. It has a seating capacity of around 5,870 people at a time. The Greek Theatre is owned by the City of Los Angeles and operated by SMG. The architecture of the theatre is designed by the Samuel Tilden Norton, Frederick Hastings Wallisand, the Tacoma firm Gove, Bell, and Heath.
This theatre was used as the barracks for World War II. Tour shows were brought to the theatre in the 1940s by San Francisco producer. Some of the big names who have performed at the theatre are Carlos Santana, Sir Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, and Aretha Franklin. Not only this, but the venue has also hosted some television shows, community events, and high school graduations. The opening of the arena began with its first show hosted on June 26, 1931. This show was attended by around 4,000 fans at a time, and according to the legit reports, the seats in the first two sections were sold for $1, and rest were free of cost.
