Gainbridge Fieldhouse - Indianapolis IN
Indiana has a diversified economy and hosts several notable athletic events, for instance, the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 motorsports race. Bankers Life Fieldhouse is one of the renowned indoor arenas based in Downtown Indianapolis. It came into existence in 1999 to replace the Market Square Arena.
It was initially titled as Conseco Fieldhouse but eventually got its name after one of the firm's subsidiaries acknowledged as Bankers Life and Casualty. Contrary to other North American sports arenas, the Field-house was devised mainly for basketball. It can make room for an NHL-sized rink, but the seating capacity is reduced to 12,300 for ice hockey, as the seating arrangement is asymmetrical. The arena is a host to sporting events like wrestling, auto racing, and football as well. It also hosts high school tournaments at times. In 2004, FINA organized the Short Course World Swimming Championship in the stadium.
The main feature of the arena is the scoreboard. It has a giant state-of-the-art scoreboard that features twin 1080p high definition (HD) video screens, each measuring 50 feet long extending the nearly foul line to foul line by 21 feet high. Further, a magnificent sound system adds to the glory. It provides a highly enhanced visual and audio experience for every seat in the building. It is also one of the concert venues in the city of Indianapolis. It has witnessed Metallica set a new attendance record at the venue with 18,274 fans. One can register for events through online booking via different websites.
