PNC Park is a baseball park located at Federal Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was inaugurated on March 31, 2001, with a construction cost of $216 million. The venue is owned by the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County while it is operated by the Pittsburgh Pirates. The field has a seating capacity of 38,747 currently. It underwent a lot of changes and renovations in the past years. The architecture of the park was designed by HOK Sport (now Populous) and L.D. Astorino & Associates. It serves home to the Pittsburgh Pirates since the year 2001.
PNC Park has hosted many notable events such as baseball, concerts, films, and other local events. The notable baseball events held here include 77th Major League Baseball All-Star Game on July 11, 2006, the 2013 National League Wild Card Games of the Cincinnati Reds, and the Homer Bailey (no-hit Pirates) on September 28, 2012. Pitt Panthers and the Duquesne Dukes played the first collegiate baseball game on May 6, 2003. Concerts performed at the park included Bruce Springsteen, the E Street Band, Jason Aldean, Billy Joel The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran, Dave Matthews, Me First, the Gimme Gimmes, Jimmy Buffett, Pearl Jam, and Zac Brown Band in different years. The park also served as one of the locations for the two films; ‘Abduction’ and “She’s Out Of My League.”
Tickets for the events to be held at the PNC Park are available at the Box Office from Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M and Saturday 10:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M. You can also buy tickets online at TicketsOnSale.com at a lower price.
