The Ak-Chin Pavilion is an outdoor amphitheater, located in the beautiful Phoenix, Arizona. It was inaugurated on 11th November 1990, and Billy Joel was the inaugural performer of the newly born venue. This venue has a seating capacity of around 8106 people under one pavilion roof and then comes the hillside where it has the capacity of 12000 people with large video screens, making the capacity of 20,000 in total.
The Ak-Chin Pavilion was initially named as, “Blockbuster Desert Sky Pavilion” and was known by the same name till the year 1996. The venue’s naming kept changing and got settled in 2013 at the current final name. The naming rights are held by the Ak-Chin Indian community; being the owner to the entire sponsorship of the venue. The amphitheater’s season begins in April and continues until October. This place is hustling during the whole summertime.
The Ak-Chin Pavilion has hosted some significant historical events, shows, and festivals, which makes it more heavily renowned. Some of the all-time popular recordings on this venue are “Cigarettes and Valentines” by Green Day’s and “Life in Phoenix” by Fall Out Boys recorded live here. Not only this, but the venue has also held some festivals like, “The Vans Warped Tour” and “Lollapalooza” for over the years.
