The Warner Theatre (Originally known as the Earle Theatre) is located at 513 13th Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. The theatre was opened for the general public on December 27, 1924, with a seating capacity of around 1,847 people at a time. The arena is owned by CBRE Global Investors and operated by the Live Nation. The architecture of the Warner Theater was designed by C. Howard Crane & Kenneth Franzheim II.
The arena has featured the premiere of the movie “This is the Army” on August 12, 1943. Exclusively, the theatre began showing films in 1945. It was renamed in honor of the actual owner of the theatre, Harry Warner in 1947. He was one of the founders of “Warner Brothers.” Artists like Jack Benny, Bob Hope, and Duke Ellington acted in the arena between 1930 and 1940. The famous movie that was shown at the theatre in the 1960s was Doctor Zhivago, Ben-Hur, and Hello, Dolly!. The Rolling Stones also performed the secret show at the Warner Theatre on June 15, 1978. The BET Honors ceremony is held at the Warner Theatre annually due to the theatre being the home venue for this event.
