The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is another former movie palace and a performing arts venue which is located at 660 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It is the centerpiece of the popular Fox Theatre Historic District which was opened in 1929. This theatre has a seating capacity of 4,665 in the auditorium and was developed as a lavish movie theatre in the Fox Theatre chain. In the 1940s, the Fox Theatre gathered some strong management and became the finest movie theatre in Atlanta while the Egyptian Ballroom of the theatre became the most popular dance hall for the public. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 1974. It is the only movie palace that remained in Atlanta.
