KeyBank Center was formerly known as Marine Midland Arena, First Niagara Center, HSBC Arena. It is a multi-purpose indoor arena that is located at 1 Seymour H. Knox III Plaza, Buffalo, New York. The place was opened on September 21, 1996, and has a seating capacity of 19,070 (Ice Hockey), 18,500 (Concerts), 19,200 (Basketball), 16,597 (Wrestling). Erie County owns the KeyBank Center, and it is operated by the Pegula Sports and Entertainment.
The architect of the arena was designed by Ellerbe Becket. The KeyBank Center was home to the Buffalo Destroyers of the Arena Football League, the Buffalo Blizzard of the National Professional Soccer League. It has also hosted the Rochester Americans games, and currently hosts college basketball and concerts like events regularly throughout the year. In 2003, the arena hosted the Frozen Four NCAA Ice Hockey Tournament. The first Ontario Hockey League contest was hosted in the arena on October 14. In 2016, the venue hosted performances of Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Nick Jonas, and Maroon 5. According to the latest news, Celine Dion is going to perform at the arena on December 5, 2019, during her Courage World Tour.
