The Bridgestone Arena, originally known as "Nashville Arena" and formerly known as "Gaylord Entertainment Center" and "Sommet Center" is located at 501 Broadway Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The place was opened for the general public on December 18, 1996. The renovation of the arena took place in the years 2007,2011 and 2015. The arena's architecture was designed by HOK Sport, Hart Freeland Roberts, Inc. The Bridgestone arena is owned by the Sports Authority of Nashville and Davidson County whereas operated by the Powers Management Company. The arena has different seating spaces such as 19,395 for Basketball, 17,159 for Ice Hockey, 18,500 at the End-Stage, 10,000 at Half-House, 5,145 at the Music City Theatre, and 20,000 people can be seated at the Center-Stage. The record attendance at the arena is 19,047, recorded in the show of Mumford & Sons on March 22, 2019.
Bridgestone Arena is home to the NHL's Nashville Predators. This venue has hosted the United States Figure Skating Championships in 1997 and USA Gymnastics National Championships in 2004. It was also the home to Nashville Kats franchise of the Arena Football League from the year 1997 to 2001. It also hosted the college basketball events of the Southeastern Conference and Ohio Valley Conference in the years 2001,2006, and 2010.
