Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is located at 1 Center Court, downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It is a multi-purpose arena with a seating capacity of 19,432 for basketball, 9,447 (expandable to 18,926) for Ice hockey, and 18,926 for arena football with 2,000 club seats and 88 luxury suites. The venue was opened to the general public on October 17, 1994, with a construction cost of $100 million. It is under the ownership of Development Corp. and Gateway Economic while operated by Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. It underwent a significant renovation in 2018. The site enjoys the presence of the scoreboard used in an NBA arena which is nicknamed as Humongotron.
The venue serves home to the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League, Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League, and Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The place is a secondary arena to Cleveland State Vikings men's and women's basketball. It was formerly known as the Gund Arena from 1994 till 2005. In 2005 it was named as Quicken Loans Arena and finally on April 2019, got renamed to Rocket Mortgage. The architect of the arena is designed by Ellerbe Becket.
It is one of the largest arenas by seating capacity in the NBA. The site frequently hosts concerts, athletic events, sports, and other events. Some notable events held at this place are Mid-American Conference (MAC) Men's Basketball Tournament, NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, U.S. Figure Skating Championships, SummerSlam (1996), Survivor Series (2004), and much more.
