About Neil Young

Neil Percival Young OC OM (November 12, 1945) is a singer and composer from Canada and the US. He started performing music in Winnipeg in the '60s and then relocated to Los Angeles to join the folk-rock band Buffalo Springfield. Along with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, he recorded the top-charting album Déjà Vu in 1970 while a part-time band member. One of their biggest songs was "For What It's Worth," which became a protest anthem. After that, he joined Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and helped create powerful songs that blended folk, rock, and country. Around the same time, he also started his solo career. In 1972, he released Harvest, one of his most successful albums, featuring hits such as "Heart of Gold" and "Old Man." Throughout the years, Young has stayed active and creative. He has released dozens of albums, including Rust Never Sleeps, After the Gold Rush, and Tonight’s the Night. Some of his songs are soft and acoustic, while others are loud and full of electric guitar. He often sings about love, nature, war, and freedom. He’s also known for being part of the band Crazy Horse, which helped shape his louder, grungier sound. Many younger artists, like Pearl Jam and Nirvana, were inspired by him. Even with ups and downs in the music industry, he has stayed true to his style. In 2025, Young is back on tour with Crazy Horse for their Love Earth Tour. The shows feature songs from their latest album, FU##IN’ UP, along with classic tracks that fans have loved for years. The tour includes stops in cities like San Diego, Phoenix, Austin, and Chicago. Young continues to perform with passion and heart, sharing his music with both longtime fans and a new generation.

Essential Event-Day Checklist

Before You Leave

  • Digital Tickets: Download tickets to your phone's wallet now. Venue Wi-Fi is notoriously unreliable.
  • ID Check: Bring a valid photo ID; many venues require it for entry or "Will Call" pickup.
  • Bag Policy: Most venues enforce clear bag policies or limits (typically A4 size or smaller). Check the specific venue site to avoid being turned away.
  • Cash & Cards: While many venues are now cashless, bring some cash as a backup.

Pro-Tips

  • Power Up: Bring a portable power bank. Using your phone for video and ride-sharing will drain your battery fast.
  • Hearing Safety: Use high-fidelity earplugs to enjoy the event while protecting your hearing.
  • Hydration & Energy: Eat a full meal and stay hydrated beforehand.

Dress for Success

  • Footwear: Wear broken-in sneakers or boots. You could be standing for 3–5 hours; avoid new shoes.
  • Layer Up: Wear light layers (flannel or light jacket). Venues can range from chilly to very hot.
  • Style: Be yourself, but it always helps to have pockets or a small crossbody bag to keep essentials secure and hands-free.

Logistics & Safety

  • Arrive Early: Get there 60 minutes before doors to beat the merch and security lines.
  • Transport: Pre-book your ride share or scout parking garages in advance to avoid post-show surges.
  • Stay Safe: Identify your nearest exit upon arrival and designate a meeting spot for your group.
