About Wisin y Yandel

Wisin & Yandel is a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo. The current lineup consists of Wisin and Yandel. Wisin and Yandel appeared on two albums in 1998: DJ Dicky's No Fear 3 and the Fresh Productions compilation La Misión Vol. 1. After the popularity of this record, the label decided to release Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio, Wisin & Yandel's debut album. At that point, the duo's career took off. They kept adding new content to La Misión with each new edition, and they released three more gold-certified albums: De Nuevos a Viejos (2001), Mi Vida... My Life (2003), and De Otra Manera (2004). Additionally, in 2002, they took up the Tu Msica Award for Best Rap/Reggaeton Duo. Separation rumors began circulating after the 2004 release of Wisin's solo album El Sobreviviente and Yandel's Quien Contra Mi. The albums failed to sell well, but the duo continued to work together. The two individuals launched a record label known as WY Records. Under this moniker, they published their breakthrough album Pa'l Mundo in 2005. The album became a global phenomenon when it made it to nations like China and Japan and even some in Europe.
