About Alofoke

Santiago Matías García (December 6, 1981), whose real name is Esmelin Santiago Matías, also known as Alofoke., is a media mogul, businessman, record producer, artist interviewer, radio host, and native Dominican. In 2006, Matías was inspired to start AlofokeMusic, a media group in the Dominican Republic that focuses solely on covering artists from the Urbano music genre, after seeing the underrepresentation of this genre in the Dominican media and the overwhelming enthusiasm of the audiences in the various provinces where they performed. Matías decided to end his rapping career and focus on interviewing and writing about urban artists after the AlofokeMusic website took off, where he began posting exclusive content about underground rap and rap battles between artists. The website had thousands of daily visitors within months of launch. Ozuna and Santiago Matias acquired Sonido Suave, a Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic-based radio station that plays Bolero and Ballad music in Spanish, in 2021. In the same year, it switched to an urban contemporary format and changed its name to Alofoke FM. Alofoke Music Group currently runs it. In the "Alofoke Sin Censura" part of Matías's Alofoke Radio Show, which airs on KQ-94.5 FM, he challenges the musicians he interviews about themselves and their thoughts on social topics. He has interviewed notable Dominican and international urban music artists, including Anuel AA, Bad Bunny, and many more.
