About Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes is a Seattle, Washington-based indie folk band that started in 2006. In addition to Robin Pecknold (vocals, guitar), the band also features Skyler Skjelset (guitar, mandolin, backing vocals), Casey Wescott (keyboards, mandolin, backing vocals), Christian Wargo (bass, guitar, backing vocals), and Morgan Henderson (drums, percussion) (upright bass, guitar, woodwinds, violin, percussion, saxophone). After releasing their second EP, Sun Giant, on Sub Pop in 2007, Fleet Foxes gained widespread attention by releasing their self-titled first album the same year. After their debut album's success, the band released two more critically acclaimed studio albums before calling it quits in 2020: Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up. Still, their music has been hailed by reviewers who have complimented their lyricism, dark productions, and frequent use of sophisticated instrumentation and vocal harmonies. The band's first album was featured in "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" and was named by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest of the decade. Two of the band's albums have been nominated for Grammys: 2012's Helplessness Blues for Best Folk Album and 2022's Shore for Best Alternative Music Album.
