Born on the 29th of December, 1959 Marco Antonio Solis flourished as a Mexican singer, musician, composer, actor, and producer. He formed a Mexican Grupera band in 1975 with his cousin Joel Solis named Los Bukis, of which Solis was the lead vocalist and guitarist. False Amor (False Love), Los Bukis’s first song became quite popular in Latin America. He debuted as a solo artist in 1995 after working with the band for more than 20 years.
As a solo artist, his songs hit number one 10 times on the Hot Latin Tracks Singles Chart. He has also won numerous Billboard Latin Music Awards for Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year in 1996 and 1997, Songwriter of the Year in 1998 and many more in the following years. Marco Antonio Solis has also won five Latin Grammy Awards and also has a star under his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has worked with Olga Tanona a Puerto Rican recording artist, Ana Barbara a Mexican artist and Enrique Iglesias. His body of work has been an inspiration to many artists and he is highly revered in the Latino music circle.
