Megadeth Information
Megadeth is one of the famous American heavy metal bands that originated from Los Angeles, California. This heavy metal band was created by Guitarist Dave Mustaine (from Metallica band) and bassist David Ellefson in 1983. Megadeth is considered as one of the "big four" thrash metal bands of America. The current band members include Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Kiko Loureiro, and Dirk Verbeuren. The group also has a mascot named Vic Rattlehead that is sighted on each of its live shows and albums.
Megadeth released its debut album in 1985 entitled Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! Which was followed by Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? (1986). In 1987, Megadeth performed as the opening act on Alice Cooper's Constrictor tour. This tour was followed by the band’s first headlining world tour in the United Kingdom, which was a 72-week tour.
Some of the later hit discographies by Megadeth are; So Far, So Good... So What! (1988), Rust in Peace (1990), Countdown to Extinction (1992), Youthanasia (1994), Cryptic Writings (1997), The World Needs a Hero (2001), The System Has Failed (2004), United Abominations (2007), Endgame (2009), Thirteen (2011), Super Collider (2013), and Dystopia (2016). Throughout its career, Megadeth has sold around 38 million records worldwide and also earned platinum certifications for six out of its fifteen albums by the United States. The band was nominated twelve times for Grammy and won its first Grammy in 2017 for their song "Dystopia" in the Best Metal Performance category.
