Sam Lowry Hunt (December 8, 1984) is an American songwriter and singer. He was born in Cedartown, Georgia, and is 35 years old. Hunt was a football player during his high school and college years. He also tried to persuade a professional sports career before signing with MCA Nashville in 2014. He studied at Cedartown High School and was a quarterback at Middle Tennessee State University (2003-2004). Hunt graduated in the year 2007 from UAB.
Hunt was heavily credited for working with Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, and Keith Urban by writing singles. This happened before his successful solo career. Montevallo was the debut studio album by him that broke many chart records. This album included five singles, including three consecutive Hot Country Songs charts and four Country Airplay chart number ones. "Leave the Night On" was the lead single included in the debut album that peaked concurrently on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. Hunt became the first country artist in 22 years to reach the top three country charts simultaneously.
Southside (2020) is another studio album by Hunt along with some hit singles including "Body Like a Back Road" (his biggest hit), "Drinkin' Too Much," "Downtown's Dead," "Nothing Lasts Forever," "Kinfolks," and "Sinning With You." On November 21, 2019, Hunt got arrested after allegedly driving under the influence in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sam Lowry Hunt has been honored with many awards such as CMT Music Awards, Music Biz Awards, Taste of Country Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, ASCAP Country Music Awards, American Music Awards, American Country Countdown Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, and a few more. He also got nominated for Billboard Music Awards and Grammy Awards.
