About The Jacksons

The Jacksons is an American pop band founded in 1965 in Gary, Indiana. The group was formerly known as The Jackson 5 (stylized as the Jackson 5ive), playing pop, disco, soul, bubblegum pop, funk, rhythm, and blues. The entire group is composed of family members, and it was created by brothers Jackie, Tito, and Jermaine, who were later joined by two more younger brothers, Marlon and Michael. Although the infamous Michael Jackson died in 2009, the current band consists of the four remaining brothers. During its early stages, The Jacksons performed in many clubs and talent shows. Soon the band was signed with Steeltown Records in 1967, releasing two singles. The group eventually switched to Motown Records and released four consecutive number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100. This made them the first band to debut with such remarkable success. Their initial hit singles include “ABC,” “The Love You Save,” “I Want You Back,” and “I’ll Be There.” The Jacksons also earned 16 top-40 singles on the chart as a big milestone. Between 1976 and 1981, The Jacksons released four studio albums and one live album. This includes the successful albums Destiny (1978) and Triumph (1980). The band's hit albums are Jackson 5 Christmas Album (1970) and Moving Violation (1975). The band performed several successful tours, such as Goin’ Places Tour (1978), The Jacksons Tour (1977), and Unity Tour (2012–2013).
