About Xscape

Xscape, formerly known as XSCAP3, is a group of American lady artists hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. The group was created in 1991 by Tamika Scott, Kandi Burruss, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, LaTocha Scott, Tamera Coggins-Wynn, and Tamera Coggins-Wynn. After Coggins-Wynn's departure the next year, Xscape shrank to a foursome. They were signed to Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label when he noticed them. Song titles like "Just Kickin' It" and "Understanding" were from the group's 1993 debut album, Hummin' Comin' at 'Cha. February 1, 1994, was the album's Platinum certification day. Over nine million albums have been sold by Xscape. Due to Kandi Burruss's break from Broadway in February 2018, the group briefly shrank and rebranded as XSCAP3. There was an EP called Here for It (2018), and the songs "Wifed Up" and "Dream Killa" were released by that group.  At the Soul Train Awards in November of 2022, the ensemble was named Lady of Soul. After Latocha was accused of stealing money from her sister and fraud in 2024, the gang now includes Tamika Scott, Kandi Burruss, and Tameka "Tiny" Hariss. There are currently no intentions for Latocha to rejoin Xscape, and the group continues to play as a trio.
