Club América was founded on October 12, 1916. It is under the ownership of Grupo Televisa and managed by Santiago Solari. The club's home games occur at the famous Estadio Azteca, the largest stadium in Latin America and one of the largest globally.
Club América is also one of the founding members of the Primera División, and it has a long-standing rivalry with Guadalajara. Both are the most successful and most popular clubs in the nation. The matches played between the two clubs are named El Súper Clásico. It is said to be the biggest rivalry in Mexico and one of the biggest globally. Club América is the winner of the thirteen league titles securing a major record. It also won a record of six Copa México titles and six Campeón de Campeones cups.
Club América is the winner of ten FIFA-recognized club trophies in international competitions. It is said to be the best for a club from the CONCACAF region. The club also won two Copa Interamericana cups, seven CONCACAF Champions Cup/Champions League titles, and one CONCACAF Giants Cup. It is one of Mexican football's most decorated and successful clubs.
