Since Miami Fusion and Tampa Bay Mutiny, Orlando City SC is the first MLA franchise that began to play in 2015. The Orlando City Soccer Club team's home matches are hosted by the Exploria Stadium located in Downtown Orlando, which has a seating capacity of 25,500 people. The team's first game was on March 8, 2015, at the Citrus Bowl against New York City FC in front of 62 510 people.
Orlando City Soccer Club is owned by Flavio Augusto da Silva and Phil Rawlins. The uniform theme color of the team is white and purple. The team's current logo announced in 2014 consists of a gold Lion face with 21 sun flares, shown as its mane in a purple shield with a white outline being the official color of the team. The 21 sun flares also represent the club as the twenty-first team in MLS. The team is also called The Lions, represented by the sun present in the club's logo.
Orlando City is part of the Major Soccer League. The MLS matches have been a massive success. The first ten and the first two matches in 2017 and 2018 were a complete sell-out. Kingston is the official mascot, which is an anthropomorphized and bulked-up lion.
