About Chris Rock

Christopher Julius Rock (February 7, 1965) is an American filmmaker, actor, and stand-up comedian. He was born in Andrews, South Carolina. After years as a stand-up comedian and bit parts in movies like Beverly Hills Cop II, Rock had his big break from 1990 to 1993 as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. Having served as host of the Academy Awards on two separate occasions (2005 and 2016), Rock got embroiled in an incident during the 2022 ceremony. From 19 nominations, he took home four Emmys for his television work and had three Grammys for best comedy albums.
