David Sedaris Information

David Raymond Sedaris (December 26, 1956) is an American comedian, author, humorist, and radio contributor. Raymond was born in Johnson City, New York, and is the son of Sharon Elizabeth and Louis Harry “Lou” Sedaris. He dabbled in visual and performance art.

David Raymond was first discovered by radio host Ira Glass in a club where Glass allowed him to appear on his weekly program, The Wild Room. The success on The Wild Room led Sedaris to his National Public Radio debut in December 1992, where he read a radio essay on Morning Edition. Santaland Diaries became a victory with listeners, and David began recording a monthly segment for NPR.

In 1993, David told The New York Times about his first book being published, which was a collection of stories and essays and had pages written of his second book. Later on, Sedaris wrote several stories and essays among which the famous ones are: Barrel Fever (1994), Holidays on ice (1997), I talk pretty one day (2000), Dress your family in corduroy and denim (2004), and Calypso (2018).

David Raymond has also written with his sister, actress Amy Sedaris, under the name “The Talent Family,” which included Stump the Host (1993), Stiches (1994), and The Little Frieda Mysteries (1997). Sedaris also contributed over 40 essays to The New Yorker magazine and blog.

America’s famous author, David Sedaris, also wrote many articles. Some of which are: Old Faithful, What I Learned, Dentists Without Borders, I brake for Traditional Marriage, The Poo Corner, and Father Time. His articles were published and delivered in several magazines and platforms.
