RuPaul’s Drag Race is a reality competition TV series known as the first in the Drag Race franchise. Originally, the show was released on February 2, 2009. World of Wonder produces it for WOW Presents Plus, Logo TV. RuPaul plays the role of the host, head judge, and mentor for the series. The contestants compete in different challenges each week.
There have been twelve winners of the RuPaul Drag Race so far, including Jaida Essence Hall, Yvie Oddly, Sasha Velour, Bob the Drag Queen, Violet Chachki, Blanca Del Rio, Jinkx Monsoon, Sharon Needles, Raja, Tyra Sanchez, and Bebe Zahara Benet.
The show’s executive producers include Chris McKim, Mandy Salangsang, Steven Corfe, RuPaul, Tom Campbell, Randy Barbato, and Fenton Bailey. RuPaul Drag Race has won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Also, it won the Outstanding Reality Program award at the 21st GLAAD Media Awards.
