About Smothers Brothers

The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour began as a show that was simply a somewhat "hip" version of the normal comedy-variety show of its era. In addition to being the chief writer for the series, Mason Williams's hit tune "Classical Gas" made its television debut on the show. Williams also produced the music for the episode.
