Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, is an American rapper born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He is known for his collaborations with Struggle Jennings, Haystak, and Lil Wyte, Ryan Upchurch, and Tech N9ne. His collaboration with Lil Wyte for “Pop Another Pill” reached more than 1 million views on YouTube.
Jelly Roll has released several mixtapes throughout his music career, including the Therapeutic Music series and Gamblin’ On a Whiteboy. He also released a debut solo studio album entitled “The Big Sal Story,” which was released independently on October 26, 2012. He has released two collaborative albums with Haystak, three collaborative albums with Struggle Jennings, and several more with other artists.
Jelly Roll’s other notable mixtapes include Mid-Grade Miracle (The Boston George Story) (April 17, 2012), Whiskey, Weed & Women (August 6, 2013), and Biggest Loser (March 11, 2014), and Therapeutic Music 5 (December 4, 2015). He also released two extended plays: Whiskey Sessions (December 9, 2014) and Crosses & Crossroads (April 15, 2019).
