About Los Bukis

Los Bukis is a Mexican Grupera band. The current lineup consists of Marco Antonio Solis (lead vocals, guitar, timbales, occ, and keyboard), Joel Solis (guitar and backing vocals), Roberto Guadarrama (1st keyboard, trumpet, and backing vocals), Eusebio “El Chivo” Cortez (bass and backing vocals), Jose “Pepe” Guadarrama (2nd keyboards, percussion, saxophone, and backing vocals), Pedro Sanchez (drums), and Jose Javier Solis (percussion and backing vocals). The band was founded by cousins Joel Solis and Marco Antonio Solis in 1975. Los Bukis released its debut song Falso Amor (“False Love”). It became popular throughout Latin America due to its style. The band ran for twenty years, and got much success both nationally and internationally, but Marco Antonio Solis decided to pursue a solo in 1996. That’s why they disbanded the band. On May 9, 2021, Los Bukis reunited after almost 25 years of hiatus. They released a re-recording and a music video of their 1986 hit entitled “Tú Cárcel.” The band also announced a reunion tour on June 14, 2021, presented at SoFi Stadium. Los Bukis released several albums during their initial 20 years, including Por Amor a Mi Pueblo (1995), Inalcanzable (1993), and Y Para Siempre (1989).
