Solána Imani Rowe (November 8, 1989) is an American R&B singer, professionally known by her stage name, SZA. She was created in Missouri's St. Louis. Before joining the hip-hop record label Top Dawg Entertainment, SZA started recording music in the early 2010s, releasing two extended plays. In 2014, she released Z, her third EP, and debuted retail release. She collaborated with Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj on the song "Feeling Myself" that same year. She was a featured performer on Rihanna's song "Consideration" in 2016.
Ctrl, SZA's debut studio album, received overwhelmingly positive reviews from music critics upon release in 2017. The Recording Industry Association of America certified it double platinum, debuting at number three on the US Billboard 200. (RIAA). She received four nominations for the album at the 60th Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist.
Rolling Stone included it among their? ?list? ?of? ?the? ?500? ?Greatest? ?Albums? ?of? ?All? ?Time? ?in? ?2020. She was a featured singer on Maroon 5's Top 10 smash "What Lovers Do" in August 2017. She and Kendrick Lamar worked together to write the top 10 single "All the Stars" for the Black Panther soundtrack the following year. For this song, she received nominations for the Golden Globe Award and the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
