The Dallas Cowboys are one of the professional American football teams based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The team was founded on January 28, 1960, and played its first season in the same year. The Cowboys compete as a member club of the league's National Football Conference (NFC) East division in the National Football League (NFL). AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, is the home stadium of the team, whereas it is headquartered in Frisco, Texas. The Dallas Cowboys were added to the NFL as an expansion team.
The Dallas Cowboys are under the ownership of Jerry Jones, with Stephen Jones being the CEO and Jerry Jones working as a president as well as general manager. The team is known by many nicknames such as America's Team, Doomsday Defense, The 'Boys, and Big D. The Cowboys have won 5 League championships; Super Bowl championships (1971 (VI), 1977 (XII), 1992 (XXVII), 1993 (XXVIII), 1995 (XXX)) and 10 Conference championships (NFL Eastern: 1966, 1967 and NFC: 1970, 1971, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1992, 1993, 1995). It also won 23 Division championships; 3 NFL Capitol and the rest NFC East.
The Dallas Cowboys are said to be the only team in NFL to strike 20 straight winning seasons (1966–85). The team missed the playoffs only twice in 1974 and 1984. By the year 2015, the franchise became the first sports team to be valued at $4 billion. The official uniform color of the team is Navy blue, metallic silver, royal blue, and white. “Cowboys Stampede March” is the fight song of the Cowboys. Rowdy is the official mascot of the Dallas Cowboys.
