Denver Nuggets Information

The Denver Nuggets are one of the American National professional basketball teams that are based in Denver, Colorado. The team competes in the NBA (National Basketball Association) as a member of the Western Conference Northwest Division. The Nuggets play their home games at Pepsi Center. Some other former home arenas where the team played are Denver Auditorium Arena (1967-1975), Denver Coliseum (1967-1975), and McNichols Sports Arena (1975-1999). The Nuggets were founded in 1967 as Denver Larks, but before the first season, the team changed its name to Denver Rockets. Eventually, the team became Denver Nuggets in 1974.

The Nuggets selected skyline blue, flatirons red, midnight blue, and sunshine yellow as the official colors for their uniforms. Ricky, The Mountain Lion, is an official mascot for the Denver Nuggets. The team joined the NBA in 1976 and qualified for nine consecutive seasons for NBA playoffs. The Nuggets built up a huge fan base while playing at the Denver Auditorium Arena. They also edged reigning champion Kentucky Colonels which was one of the greatest successes for the team. They have played 49 seasons; nine in the ABA and 38 in the NBA.

So far, the Nuggets have not won any Conference titles or championships except 3 ABA Division titles and 8 NBA Division titles. The team has inducted several players into the Hall of Famer such as Dikembe Mutombo, David Thompson, Dan Issel, Allen Iverson, Charlie Scott, and several other players. Coaches who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame are Alex Hannum and John Mclendon. Šarunas Marciulionis was the only player added to the FIBA Hall of Famers.
