The Indianapolis Colts are an American football team that is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Colts compete as a member of the league's American Football Conference (AFC) South division in the National Football League (NFL). The team inaugurated 67 years ago on January 23, 1953. The Colts are headquartered in Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center, whereas it plays its home games at Lucas Oil Stadium. The team previously used to play at the RCA Dome. Since the year 1987, the Indianapolis Colts have been the host team for the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Colts were one of the three NFL teams that joined the American Football League (AFL) to form the AFC. The team has advanced to the playoffs 28 times in total and also won three NFL Championship games (1958, 1959, and 1968). The club also played two Super Bowls winning in 1970 and 2006. The team won 16 Division championships (NFL Coastal: 1968, AFC East: 1970, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1987, 1999, and AFC South: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014).
The official color theme of the uniform for the Colts is royal blue and white. The team is under the ownership of Jim Irsay, who is also the CEO. The general manager of the team is Chris Ballard. The club was previously known as Baltimore Colts (1953–1983). The Colts have inducted many players to its Pro Football Hall of Famers, including Raymond Berry, Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, and many more.
A few of the players inducted in the ring of honor are; Bill Brooks, Ted Marchibroda, Marvin Harrison, Jeff Saturday, Reggie Manning, Dwight Freeney, and many others.
