Los Angeles Dodgers Information
The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the American professional baseball teams based in Los Angeles, California. The team competes in MLB (Major League Baseball) as a National League (NL) West Division member. The Dodgers were established in 1883, and since then, the team has played their home games at different venues, including Washington Park (1884-1890), Ridgewood Park (1886-1889, only for Sunday), Eastern Park (1891-1897), and some others. The Dodgers were the first MLB team ever to play in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers were known as the Brooklyn Atlantics in 1884, Brooklyn Grays 1884-1887, Brooklyn Bridegrooms 1888-1890, and eventually, they became Los Angeles Dodgers in 1958. They are often called by their nickname also; “Trolley Dodgers.” The Dodgers selected white, red, and dodger blue color theme for their uniforms. The New York Yankees are the major revivals of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers-Yankees rivalry is the most well-known rivalries in Major League Baseball.
Bailey is the official mascot of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team has inducted many players into the Hall of Famers, including Rickey Henderson, Gary Carter, Jim Bunning, Juan Marichal, Eddie Murray, Hoyt Wilhelm, Mike Piazza, Pedro Martinez, and Jim Thome.
The Dodgers were the first team to have numbers on the front of their uniforms in 1952. Also, the first Western team to win a World Series (1959). Overall, the team has won 7 World Series titles, 24 NL Pennants, 1 AA Pennants, 19 West Division titles, and 2 Wild Card berths.
