New York Giants Information
The New York Giants are a professional American football team. The franchise is based in the New York metropolitan area. It was established 94 years ago on August 1, 1925, and played its first season in the same year. The Giants compete in the NFL as an East Division member of the National Football Conference. The home games of the club are played in MetLife Stadium East Rutherford, New Jersey, whereas the team is headquartered in the Quest Diagnostics Training Center East Rutherford. Some of the former home fields of the Giants include Polo Grounds (1925–1955), Yankee Stadium (1956–1973), Yale Bowl (1973–1974), Shea Stadium (1975), and Giants Stadium (1976–2009).
The Giants are under the ownership of John Mara and Steve Tisch (he is also the chairman of the team). The president of the club is John Mara, whereas the general manager is Dave Gettleman. A few of the nicknames given to the Giants are Big Blue, G-Men, Jints, Now York Football Giants, and a few more. The team has won eight league championships, including four NFL championships and four Super Bowl Championships. They also won eleven Conference championships (NFL Eastern: 1956, 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1963 and NFC: 1986, 1990, 2000, 2007, 2011) as well as sixteen Division championships. The team appeared thirty-two times in the playoffs.
The Giants have three colors in their official uniform, including dark blue, red, and white. The team inducted many players to the Pro Football Hall of Famers such as Red Badgro, Rosey Brown, Harry Carson, Frank Gifford, Joe Guyon, Mel Hein, and many more.
