New York Knicks Information

The New York Knickerbockers, commonly referred to as Knicks, are a professional basketball team based in the New York City borough of Manhattan. The team was founded in 1946 (by Ned Irish) and is a member of the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division. It competes in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Madison Square Garden is the home venue of the New York Knicks. The team is one of the two NBA teams which are located in New York City. The other team is the Brooklyn Nets. Accompanied by the Boston Celtics, the Knicks are two of the original NBA teams located in their home city.

The New York Knicks has orange, silver, black, white, and blue as their official uniform colors. The team does not have any official mascots currently. The team appeared three times in the NBA Finals in the early 1950s but won none. The Knicks have won 2 NBA Championships (1970 and 1973), 8 Conference titles, and 5 Division titles.

The team inducted several players into the Basketball Hall of Famers, including Tom Gola, Slater Martin, Bill Bradley, Walt Frazier, Harry Gallatin, Walt Bellamy, Patrick Ewing, Bernard King, and several more. Some of the team players selected for the NBA All-Star Game are Vince Boryla, Harry Gallatin, Max Zaslofsky, Dick McGuire, Richie Guerin, Johnny Green, and the list goes on.

The Knicks also won several individual awards, including NBA MVP (Willis Reed), NBA Finals MVP (Willis Reed), NBA Rookie of the Year (3 players), NBA Sixth Man of the Year, NBA Defensive Player of the Year (Tyson Chandler), NBA Sportsmanship Award (Jason Kidd), and many more.
