Blue Man Group is a company that entertains audiences through performance arts on stage. The performances incorporate various categories of music and art. The company has a worldwide audience, with theatrical productions based in New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, Boston, and Berlin.
Other than the stage productions, the Blue Man Group also conducts various national and global tours. The show has also appeared in several TV programs as either characters or performers. One such TV show is the Norwegian Cruise Line ship Epic. The performance has also released several studio albums and performed at some orchestras in the US.
The Blue Man Group came to be after three close friends, Phil Stanton, Matt Goldman, and Chris Wink, who grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan came out to celebrate the end of the 80s wearing blue masks. The trio led a street procession. MTV’s correspondent, Kurt Loder, who was covering the event, was drawn to the men in blue masks. What started as ‘creative disturbances’ on the streets turned into a series of small shows, which eventually went on to perform at the Astor Place Theatre in 1991.
