Lindsey Stirling is an American singer, violinist, dancer, and songwriter. She was born on September 21, 1986. She attended Mesquite High School at the age of 16 and joined four friends in a rock band, “Stomp on Melvin.” Stirling wrote a violin rock song that won the state title of Arizona's Junior Miss.
In 2010, Stirling was a quarter-finalist on America's Got Talent’s season five, where she was described as a "hip hop violinist." She impressed the judges not only by mixing classical, pop, and hip-hop music on the violin but by incorporating dancing along with violin playing. Stirling's collaborations with other singers and musicians have included Tay Zonday ("Mama Economy"), Shaun Barrows ("Don't Carry It All" – The Decemberists), Sam Tsui ("Heads Up"), Chester See ("I Knew You Were Trouble" and "Game of Thrones"). She has also collaborated with Alex Boye and the Salt Lake Pops orchestra. On September 18, 2012, she released an eponymous debut album in conjunction with a North American tour.
Stirling has headlined various tours throughout the years, including Warmer in the Winter Tour (2017), Wanderland Tour (2018), and Synthesis Live (2018). She has won 5 Billboard Music Awards, 2 German Echo Music Awards, 2 Teen Choice Awards, 5 Streamy Awards, and 2 YouTube Awards. Her song, "Crystallize," become the No. 8 top-viewed video of 2012 with more than 42 million views.
Her album “Lindsey Stirling” earned golden certifications from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in 2013. She appeared on several Billboard 2013 year-end charts; notably, No. 2 on Classical Albums, No. 3 on Classical Album Artists, and No. 3 on Dance/Electronic Albums for Lindsey Stirling.
