The Arizona Diamondbacks (D-backs) is an American professional baseball team. The team is based in Phoenix, Arizona. The Arizona Diamondback competes as a member of the National League’s West division in Major League Baseball (MLB). Chase Field, formerly famous as Bank One Ballpark, is the home stadium for the team. Diamondbacks are often nicknamed The Snakes, Rattlesnakes, and the D-backs. Black, teal, Sedona red, Sonoran sand, and white are the colors opted as the team’s consistent theme.
The Arizona Diamondbacks were officially voted into the National League on January 16, 1997. The team was awarded an expansion franchise to Phoenix on March 9, 1995. The team played its first major league game against the Colorado Rockies at Bank One Ballpark (March 31, 1998).
The Arizona Diamondbacks won 1 World Series Championship title in 2001, 1 NL Pennants in 2001, 5 West Division titles (1999, 2001, 2002, 2007, and 2011), and 1 Wild card berths in 2017. The official mascot of the team is D. Baxter the Bobcat. It was unveiled June 23, 2000, when the team was playing at the Chase Field. Purple, black, teal, and copper were the original colors of the team in the past.
