Nickelback Information
Nickelback is a Canadian rock that was formed in the year 1995. The band was formed in Hanna, Alberta, Canada, as a cover band called "Village Idiot." Mike and Chad Kroeger (brothers), along with cousin Brandon Kroeger and Ryan Peake, are the founders of Nickelback. Initially, the group used to perform covers of songs from Led Zeppelin and Metallica.
The first full-length album by Nickelback was released in 1996 named Curb. "Fly" was the first single released by the group, which was followed by The State in 2000. The State came up with a few hit singles such as "Worthy to Say," "Leader of Men," "Old Enough," and "Breathe." Two of the mentioned ones were Top 10 hits. This album got gold-certified and later platinum in 2008.
Some of the other studio albums by Nickelback are Silver Side Up 2001, The Long Road (2003), All the Right Reasons (2005), Dark Horse (2008), Here and Now (2011), No Fixed Address (2014), and Feed the Machine (2017). In total, Nickelback released two compilation albums, one extended play (EP), nine studio albums, 43 singles, five video albums, as well as 32 music videos.
The two compilations by Nickelback are Three-Sided Coin (June 11, 2002) and The Best of Nickelback Volume 1 (November 4, 2013). Hesher was the extended play which was released in 1996. Some of the hit video albums by the band are Live at Home (MC platinum-certified and RIAA gold-certified), The Videos (MC and RIAA platinum-certified), Photo Album: The Videos, and a few more.
The significant awards earned by the Nickelback include SOCAN International Achievement Awards (2003-2008), two MTV Video Music Awards, one People's Choice Award, seven MuchMusic Video Awards, twelve Juno Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, and a total of 67 nominations.
